Katherine perched on a tree in El Salvador
Katherine’s journey began when she was doodling in Sunday school, and noticed her peers glancing and soon small groups huddling to oversee her draw. A majority of her confidence was rooted in her artistic expression and creativity.
Fine arts, crocheting, knitting, graphic design, animation, video/content creation and zine-making became additional hobbies before attending college. Katherine reached out to a seamstress the summer before she was admitted to FIT and became her apprentice, learning basic sewing.
In addition to completing her Fashion BFA at FIT, Katherine has exhibited her work at the Museum at FIT and minored in art history, visiting over 20 museums globally. She broadened her experience in social media and business, completing a marketing internship abroad and receiving a business certificate at FIT.
Katherine prioritizes innovation, taking additional online courses and receiving a certificate in seamless knitwear technology from Woolmark®. She continues to experiment with Clo3D and continues to grow her skillset and industry knowledge through trade shows, conferences, and online courses. She exposes herself to unique experiences through frequent travel and falling into rabbit holes during her research.
